Hey Honey, You turned the oven off before we left, right?

Spoiler alert – he didn’t!

Growing up, every time my family went on a summer vacation, my Dad used to ask my Mom some variation of this question.

Did you turn off the stove?
Did you lock the door?
Do you have the tickets?

He always waited until we were 20,000 feet in the air on a plane or 10 hours from home on a steep mountain pass. 😂

Thankfully, it was always okay! But after a few years of this, Mom replied (with some venom) that unless we were actually close enough to home to DO anything, he should keep such unwelcome thoughts to himself!
